The
Product and its Purpose
The 'fit and forget' way to control Fat, Oil and Grease (FOG) in
the drain line.The product contains naturally occurring bacteria that break
down FOG into its harmless easily degradable constituent parts.
The Effect of FOG Accumulations.
The accumulation of FOG from food preparation and dish washing is a major
problem for catering establishments. FOG being hydrophobic in nature will
not dissolve in water. FOG tends to float on water and attaches itself to
the surfaces of
drain lines, pump wells and grease separators. If left untreated the FOG will
accumulate, form a hard cap and eventually cause drain line blockages. Once
a hard cap is formed the environment in which the fat is lodged becomes anaerobic
and with time the untreated fat starts to rot. The rotting process produces
not only
a foul odour but also releases sulphonic acids that can attack any metal in
the immediate vicinity, causing structural weakness and eventual failure.
